The Story Behind the Design
Shinsei Bloom draws on Sakai Hōitsu’s Flowing Water and Seasonal Flowers Screen (流水四季草花図屏風), a 19th-century work in the Rinpa tradition, held by the Tokyo National Museum. Flowers from different seasons gather against gold, connected by a vivid blue stream. Their carefully placed shapes and clear colors create a composition that is both decorative and attentive to nature.
Kosei Art brings details from this seasonal composition onto lacquered surfaces. Flowers and flowing water become part of the room’s everyday setting, inviting a closer look at the painting’s rhythm and color.

Cancellation or change requests must reach us within 24 hours of purchase. Cancellations requested within this window receive a full refund. We do not accept change-of-mind cancellations after this period, except where required by law.
Please report delivery damage or defects promptly, ideally within seven days of receipt, with your order number and clear photos of the item and packaging. Video may be helpful for issues that photographs cannot show. We assess each case and arrange an appropriate repair or replacement, including necessary shipping, at no cost for verified damage or defects. If repair or replacement cannot reasonably resolve the issue, we will discuss the appropriate resolution with you.

From architecture to objects
For Michio Fujinami, a building, its interior and the objects within it form one living environment. His architectural practice brings Japanese aesthetics into harmony with the culture, climate and surroundings of each place.
Kosei Art brings this philosophy to the scale of furniture. Historic Japanese imagery gives each piece a cultural point of departure; Vietnamese lacquer craftsmanship gives it surface, depth and presence in the home.
Qualified as an architect in Japan and Singapore, he founded Fujinami Architects & Associates in 1989. The practice received the BCA Best Buildable Design Award in 1999 for its Sumitomo Warehouse project.
